North Longboat Key beach
09-07-15 On my last full day at the beach, I walked to the northern tip of Longboat Key. With Hurricane Irma days away from her FL encounter, the beaches were gorgeous, full of life yet devoid of humans.
09-04-17 A view NOW during a morning walk on the gorgeous Longboat Key beach. Surreal, the iPhone 7 capture was much better than with my Nikon D750!
Sunrise on final day
09-08-17 As we prepared to evacuate for Hurricane Irma, the sunrise over the beach was filled with peace and tranquility.
09-05-17 The almost full moon sets over the Gulf as the sun rises in the east. Not a quality photo yet the cool factor was high for me!

bay @ sunrise
09-03-13 The serene Sarasota Bay in the first light of the day.
09-06-17 As Hurricane Irma's outer storm bands arrived, I was gifted with a magical moment at my three-mile beach walk turnaround. With perfect timing the blue heron hunting and an in-flight pelican anchor the magnificent rainbow.
A few minutes later another rainbow appeared in the storms to the north while I hurried back to the condo.
09-06-17 As I turned around for my return 3 mile walk back to the condo, I was shocked to see the imposing storms. The rainbow let me know a swift pace would keep me dry.

The quaint seaside town of Cayucos beach
06-29-12 Aaaaah, the Pacific Ocean - such a gorgeous site and yet so different from my hometown of Sarasota, FL beaches. Whew, the water is COLD, even in the summer.

09-02-15 Wow, what a lovely view of the Longboat Key beach as I closed in on the drift wood forest at the northern tip of the key.
09-06-16 Love seeing county beaches embrace vegetation that serves as a natural erosion control.
Beach on a calm morning
08-28-16 The beach I called home for a week was calm, beautful with clear skies on the first full day - Perfect! ... and then the beach turned windy and rainy with a super rough surf from a pending hurricane. Again, Perfect!

01/10/16 The Baja California Sur shoreline is filled with what appear as igneous rocks, possibly from ancient volcano lava flows.
close-up of beach rocks
01-13-16 A close-up of the Pescadera Beach rocks as a wave recedes into foam - these rocks made an unforgettable "rumble" as the waves returned to the ocean.
01-08-16 The foamy shoreline after the crashing waves recede continued to amaze throughout our Baja California Sur Pennisula visit.
Water over rock
01-12-16 Volcanic rock is common along the Pacific Coast beaches; as they crash over the rocks, the waves make spectacular active art consisting of water, foam and rock.
01-12-16 As powerful waves recede, foamy water settles on the rocks and then runs off in the well worn crevices.
Wave ready to crach
01-12-16 An unfurling wave prepares to crash on the volcanic rock along the shore.

08-27-15 Harts Landing is a Sarasota classic appreciated by boaters, fishermen and those walking the Sarasota Bay Bridge parks.
