Holly Elmore Photos

Photography is a personal journey of self-discovery as I navigate unchartered waters. Until 2009, photography played a minor role at best in life. On August 26, 2009 my dear father joined the Angels yet left behind his love for photography as an implant within my Being. All of a sudden feathered and furry friends alike seemed to call for photo sessions. Light shined in my life with an entirely new perspective.

In October, 2011 I purchased my first “real” camera, a Nikon Coolpix 500. The first picture was of a baby squirrel who ran out from the safety of the bushes and proceeded to climb up my leg. Boy was I nervous as I had never taken off the lens cap, more less taken a picture with the camera! A phenomenal omen, indeed.

My lovely Mother gifted me with an upgraded camera for my 2013 birthday and Christmas present. I purchased the Nikon 7100 on November 27, 2013 yet did not find the nerve to inaugurate it until January 03, 2014. Later I realized the date was my parent’s wedding anniversary – my Father gave his blessing! I knew my life was shifting gears and would never be the same.

A student at heart, I dedicated 2014 to “learning photography” through a series of classes, workshops, and taking mega pictures. At this juncture, the website shares my exploration into photography as I embrace my father’s legacy.
